Description

In this glass is the taste of a whole blossom and forest year on the Hongar mountain in the Attersee-Traunsee region!

Like any stock honey, Hongar honey is a year-round and drip honey made from natural honeycomb, but it comes exclusively from the forests and meadows of the Hongar mountain.

As unique as each flowering year is, each honey vintage has its own character: The Hongar honey 2023 is characterized this year by its fine, nutty-mild flavor aromas.

WHICH HERBS AND PLANTS ARE IN HONGAR HONEY?

According to laboratory analysis, hogweed (Heracleum), pear (Pyrus), dogwood (Cornus sanguinea), blackberry/raspberry (Rubus), buckwheat (Fagopyrum), chestnut (Castanea), pine (Pinaceae), knotweed (Persicaria), cabbage (Brassica), cornflower (Centaurea cyanus), lime (Tilia), dandelion (Taraxacum), marjoram (Majorana), rosemary (Rosmarinus), yarrow (Achillea), cleavers (Serratula), sunflower (Helianthus), tulip tree (Liriodendron), plantain (Plantago), white clover (Trifolium repens), vetch (Vicia) and meadow knapweed (Centaurea jacea).

Over 20 different species, genera and families of herb, plant and tree pollen: It could hardly be more diverse!

Note: Forest and leaf honeys are not reflected in the flower pollen.

Notes

Store in a dry place, protected from light and heat.

Drip honey has a higher proportion of valuable ingredients such as pollen, propolis and wax, which is sometimes visible to the naked eye. Due to the higher pollen content, drip honey reacts somewhat more sensitively to unfavorable storage conditions: If in doubt, storage in the refrigerator is also possible.

Natural honey like ours crystallizes sooner or later. As a drip honey, it remains naturally creamy. If you like, you can add honey with max. 40 degrees liquefy again: Below 40 degrees, all valuable ingredients are retained.

HONGAR

The Hongar mountain lies between the Attersee and the Traunsee in the northern Salzkammergut (Austria). Our family has been associated with the first ridge of the Alpine foothills for generations. Against this background, it was also obvious for us to harvest our first site honey from the Hongar!
